Preview Nic's Summer Performances

The summer festival season is just around the corner filled with exuberant music in warmer climes. Nic begins the summer in Hungary with Capella Savaria (June 3-4), where he holds the title of Principal Guest Conductor. On the program is Haydn's G minor Salve Regina and Hummel's Mass in E-flat Major, Op. 80.

The majority of the season is spent between Texas, Colorado, and California.

In Fort Worth, Nic conducts The Cliburn’s semi-final round (June 9-12). Making his annual appearance at the Aspen Music Festival, the Chamber Symphony (July 8) features the breakout star Randall Goosby, and the “Baroque Evening” (July 14) includes Handel’s Water Music Suite and two Vivaldi concerti. Just on the other side of the mountains from Aspen, Nic leads the National Repertory Orchestra (July 23) in Breckenridge with Schubert’s Sixth Symphony and works by Bach, Haydn, and Rossini.

In picturesque Carmel-by-the-Sea, Nic appears in two concerts at the Carmel Bach Festival. On July 28, Bach’s Ricercare No. 2 from Musical Offering, BWV 1079 is heard along with Schubert’s Symphony No. 8 and Haydn’s Symphony No. 103. On July 30, Bach's Easter Oratorio is on stage with Clara Rottsolk, soprano; Meg Bragle, mezzo-soprano, Thomas Cooley, tenor; and Dashon Burton, bass-baritone.

The summer concludes at the Hollywood Bowl with the Los Angeles Philharmonic (September 6). Nic takes the podium with three Mozart works under the stars: Symphony Nos. 32 and 36 and the Fourth Violin Concerto with violinist Martin Chalifour.
